In a world where everyone has access to a platform, your public speaking skills will set you apart from others. Wrap up your weekend with an energizing session to prepare you for the days and months ahead!

Event details

  • Date: Sunday, August 13

  • Time: 5:00pm - 6:30pm EST

  • Location: Zoom

Why am I hosting this?

I myself once felt voiceless. I experienced bullying and throughout my life, and at some point I simply vowed to never let anyone take my sense of agency away. When you can’t advocate for yourself, how can you advocate for others?  Through my ability to speak up for myself, I’ve been able to open countless doors for others. And I want you to be able to do the same.

What to expect:

Over 1.5 hours, I’ll share key, actionable learnings that will get you on track. You’ll then go through some exercises with fellow participants in breakout groups and hone in on your skills. Come to the session ready to participate, share and enjoy yourself with an amazing community of individuals. It is my goal for you to leave this session feeling confident and energized.

About me:

I’m a Syrian-American civil rights activist, humanitarian advocate and public speaker. I’ve led national campaigns for marginalized communities for over a decade, including for Oxfam, the ACLU and now Amnesty International. I’ve spoken in front of thousands of people, been interviewed by the largest news outlets, and campaigned both on the streets and in places like the White House. For our societies to progress, we all need the ability to use our voices as tools of change.
